RUNNING FOR THE ORPHANS- NYC MARATHON NOVEMBER 2, 2008

Part of Global Industrial Products mission statement is to give back to the world community by actively supporting charitable organizations that demonstrate a solid commitment to helping people in need and making a real positive impact on society.

On November 2, 2008, Tom Howland and several close friend  will be running the New York City Marathon to support Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) "Little Brothers and Sisters" www.nphamigos.org. NPH has cared for orphaned and abandoned children primarily in Central and South America since 1954.

Over the years, Tom's family has made it a point to visit NPH Mexico. It is a powerful experience and a positive refuge for these children. Witnessing firsthand the amazing work of NPH prompted us to sponsor a child, which I encourage to you as well.

He can personally testify to you about this great cause and organization that continues to help the less fortunate children in some of the poorest countries.

The week following the NYC marathon, he will be traveling with my daughter, 2 of my sisters, and my mother to NPH El Salvador.  We have a good friend of the family, Ron Hicks, who is the Director at this orphanage. We are trying to help out with some of their current needs.

Although times may be difficult, given the current state of the economy; unfortunately, the poor are hit hardest!

NPH El Salvador is more than shelter. It is a blessing. NPH provides hope for many children born into poverty, who now have a chance for a better life.
